WHAT AM I PHOTO II, FUN AND GAMES

This is a close up photo, take a few guess at what it might be. I will post the answer in a couple days!

What am I Photograph.

What am I Photograph.

This is a macro photograph of a Bahama Sea Star (Oreaster Reticulatis)

size: 8-14 inches

Description: This species is well known because of the size. The arms are short, thick. The body is thick and heavy. Short, knobby spines on the surface form a net-like pattern. When young, the color is olive green, later the color changes to brown or orange.

Diet: Known to eat clams, small anemones, and invertebrates such as snails and crabs if the starfish can capture them.

Fun Facts: May not be commercially (or recreationally) harvested and/or sold in Florida. The color difference relates to the amount of sun light the star fish experienced during its life.
